Day 5, Goodbye Toronto, Sunday, April 2, 2006
We were up early (around 5:30 a.m. Toronto time, which was the first day of time change so in Saskabush it was 3:30 a.m.), headed to the airport by taxi and went for breakfast in the airport while we waited for our flight to depart at around 8:30 a.m. Jess was a bit more comfortable on this flight since they had taken the 2 and a half litres of fluid from her and it was a direct flight home which took about 3 and a half hours. We need to note here that Jess had lost almost 7 inches (the fundal height measurement of her uterus) after the surgery, only measuring 27 inches at 23 weeks, before surgery she was measuring 33 inches at 22 weeks. Apparently you are supposed to measure an inch for each week of pregnancy but since she has twins we were to add on another 4 inches.
Bruce and Lesley met us at the airport. Lesley had a gift for Jess on her return, it was a keychain that says "Girls Rule" and a couple of chocolates, yummy. Early in the afternoon we both had to have a nap after arriving home, it was nice to be in our own beds again.
